Car Transport: A Chief Concern to Antique Auto Dealers and Race Car Owners Alike
Ever attended a race weekend, or an antique auto show? If so, have you ever wondered how those vehicles got there? These types of entertaining shows are growing in this county every year. Many of them start out as local shows where car enthusiasts from the general area bring their cars and trucks to a central location and open them up for the public to view and appreciate. Even at local venues, the vehicle owners usually use some sort of car transport to bring the automobiles into the show.

The reason for this is even driving locally adds miles to the odometer and wear and tear to a prized antique automobile. These miles add up and reduce the overall value of the prized vehicle. If you consider that a lot of these local shows have transformed into state and regional affairs, car transport becomes an ever increasingly important part of their involvement in the shows.

Auto racing is even more dependent upon car transport. Since the vast majority of race cars are not street legal, they absolutely must be moved to the race location on some sort of auto transport. If they weren't, then most racing would be simply local events participated in by the same local drivers that could easily bring their cars in on a small tow trailer.

If you're interested in participating in a show or race, what are some aspects you'll want to consider? If you decide that you're a fan enough of racing or antique vehicles, make sure to consider the time and expense involved with simply getting yourself, and your car from home to event. All too often the owners of these automobiles fail to understand the importance of safely transporting their autos.

Be sure to consider employing a professional and experienced company that will take the time and make the effort to keep you informed about the progress your vehicle is making. Today's technology allows for near real time updates on the immediate whereabouts of the car transporter you are using. This can offer you the scheduling updates you may need, and simply provide you with peace of mind when it comes to the investment you have made in your vehicles.

Other intangibles you should definitely consider is whether or not your vehicle requires covered car transport or it is okay to keep the car or truck on an open transport vehicle. There are a number of pluses and minuses to each choice. One of the most important is whether or not the value of your vehicle will be negatively impacted by damage that could occur accidentally if something happens which an open vehicle cannot protect your car from.

Don't be misled by the acts of god language in a car transporter's contract. Know your options before you make a claim. We've all heard some form of this weasel clause. You are told that your car is insured for damages that may occur while on the bed of an auto transporter, and if you have to make a claim, for say a cracked windshield, the moving company will tell you that the rock which broke the glass was an "act of god" and they are not responsible for paying for the coverage.

Of course, this would not occur if your vehicle was in an enclosed case, so ensure you are making the best decision for the type of car transport you need before you send your prized possession off on its cross county tour.
